What To Expect During An Acupuncture Visit

Your appointment begins with a review of your pet’s history and current medical issues. Dr. Dragos will review your pet’s previous veterinary records if necessary. She will perform a conventional and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medical examination. A TCVM exam includes your pet’s constitution, tongue diagnosis, Chinese pulse evaluation, radiant heat, and point sensitivity. During this time, a treatment plan is formulated involving therapies such as acupuncture, chiropractic, laser acupuncture, laser or lacer therapy, PEMF, aquapuncture, electro-acupuncture, hemo-acupuncture, herbal medicine, Bengston Energy Healing, and dietary recommendations. The treatments used are tailored to each individual pet. The initial consultation takes an hour. The initial consultation, examination and treatment is $450. Rechecks are $400 and take 45 minutes. Patients are usually treated with acupuncture every 1-4 weeks for 3-4 treatments and then their response to therapy is evaluated. There is a separate charge for herbal medications and supplements. Western and Chinese herbal medications and supplements range from $40 to $100. Cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, and major credit cards are accepted.
